MySQL Cluster is a write-scalable, real-time, ACID-compliant transactional database, designed to deliver 99.999% availability. With a distributed, multi-master architecture and no single point of failure, MySQL Cluster scales horizontally on commodity hardware with auto-sharding (partitioning) to serve read and write intensive workloads, accessed via SQL and NoSQL interfaces.
It is available as both open source and commercial editions. The Community (OSS) Edition is available under the free software/opensource GNU General Public License (commonly known as the "GPL"). MySQL Cluster is provided as a separate download so that users can have access to builds from the latest source releases of the MySQL Cluster Carrier Grade Edition (http://www.mysql.com/downloads/clustercge/).

Oracle 刚刚发布了 MySQL Cluster 7.3 GA 版本，这个版本已经预览了 12 个月，包括一个 NoSQL JavaScript 连接器（用于 Node.js）以及外键支持。新版本支持 MySQL 5.6，提升了节点间连接的吞吐量，更具可伸缩的线程提供；全新的自动安装程序简化了设置过程，允许图形化配置（产品级别）和自动调整集群。
MySQL Cluster 采用双许可证，包括 GPL 和商业许可。商业版包含 MySQL 企业版的所有特性。
